In a move that signals our intention for further growth and our commitment to beer quality in the UK market, we're delighted to announce that respected journalist, beer consultant and Drinks Maven - Jessica Mason has joined the company as the Stiegl UK Beer Ambassador.
Stiegl has been committed to the UK since 2006 and, as a family owned brewery, this major move further highlights the 525 year old Austrian brewer’s commitment to quality, education and raising the profile of lager in the UK.
Jessica has spent 12 years working in the drinks industry beginning with global drinks news website just-drinks followed by prominent trade titles including the Publican’s Morning Advertiser where she spent 6 years working across features, drinks, conferences and awards events before leaving in 2016 to grow her Drinks Maven business.
As Drinks Maven, Jessica writes for 20 titles including Original Gravity, Beer Magazine, Imbibe, Class and Propel and offers consultancy to operators, brewing companies and retailers as well as serving as an international drinks awards judge.
Jessica’s role at Euroboozer will be to work as UK Brand Ambassador for its premium Austrian Stiegl brand which has enjoyed impressive growth in the last 5 years and is now looking to bring its beer to a broader selection of the UK’s best bars, restaurants and bottleshops.
Euroboozer’s MD Martyn Railton said:
“Stiegl is a fantastic brewery with massive history and heritage. The brewery deserves to be represented in the best way possible in the UK. Jess is a well-known, respected face within the trade with incredible knowledge, contacts and energy. so I It’s great to have her as part of the team and we couldn’t have wished for a better person to show Stiegl in it’s true light in the UK. She will bring a lot of value and experience to the business and she will be key in keeping up the momentum around Stiegl and helping the brand to reach that next level. I regularly read her perspective on beer and pubs and cannot think of a better person for the role. I’ve seen her present, host tastings and I’ve shared a few beers with her as well. She’s approachable, good humoured, talented and loves beer. These aspects are important for both Stiegl and Euroboozer. We am looking forward to working with her.”
Jessica Mason commented:
“On a recent trip to Austria, I fell in love with Stiegl. Not just the beer, which is incredible and grew my respect and admiration for its quality, but also the ethos of the entire company. Stiegl is independent and family-owned and it is not just eco-aware and organic in its approach to making beer, but also believes in treating people well. For instance, I’ve never known of anywhere where brewery workers have weekly access to their own on-site doctor and wellbeing lounges. The Kiener family genuinely believe in looking after people and paying them well, so they can live fully. I’d love to grow people’s awareness of Stiegl over here. I think there are plenty of businesses that share a similar mind-set as well as a lot of beer adorers out there who are looking for beer that is crisp and delicious, but has the credentials that align with their own principles. Stiegl means ‘little steps’ and that is what Euroboozer and I are taking together - little steps in the right direction, helping good beer reach the best places and all the people who frequent them.”
